My favorite part of having Malia as our wedding photographer was our trip to Malibu, CA for our engagement pictures. “Where do I even start???? When I first found Malia through a recommendation of a friend I fell in love with her photography style and portfolio. I knew I wanted the photos from my wedding day to be able to be FELT. Looking through Malia's Instagram I could feel it all and knew I needed her on my Wedding Team. The first call we had was like talking to a best friend. An instant click!! For such an intimate role on my wedding day I knew I needed to feel like that and I was in luck that she was available on our day. Our package included Engagements which was where we got to first meet Malia and she was everything I thought she would be. Comfortable, joyous, kind, enthusiastic! Every communication with her about ideas for the shoot and day of the wedding was seamless, easy. The photos were STRAIGHT OUT OF A MAGAZINE! And as if I didn't already know, it was that moment I knew she was the one. And could quite literally be "the one" for anyone. Her talent is beyond measure and her personality is what makes it all that much better. Fast forward to the wedding day and we were the lucky ones to have torrential downpour all day for an outdoor wedding....Malia constantly reassured me "We are going to make magic!". It stopped raining in time for me to walk down the aisle which was such a blessing. Despite the soggy, muddy grass Malia and her second shooter Riley absolutely DOMINATED. Even the guest and Wedding party commented on their energy and vibe. The wedding came and went and I texted Malia the next day so sad that it had rained all day. My vision was to have so many outdoor photos and I felt so discouraged, despite Malia's reassurance and skills, that they weren't going to look and feel how I wanted. Malia texted me at 2am with a few sneak peeks and the sweetest message telling me she couldn't sleep without me seeing a couple pictures of how beautiful it all turned out. I woke up to that and couldn't help but cry. Not only were they unbelievably stunning and exactly what I wanted but the fact that she stayed up and edited some for me absolutely warmed my heart. THAT is who Malia is. I truly felt like Malia became my friend throughout the whole process and all I can do is plan our next photoshoot with her so we never lose touch.
